In October, the Houston Chronicle reported work on the 33-story X Houston apartment tower had stopped suddenly.

X CEO Noah Gottlieb told the publication only that he expected construction to resume “very soon.” In September, the Phoenix Business Journal reported that construction had abruptly halted on X Phoenix. The development firm has faced significant hurdles in other markets.

The X Company used a $2 million bond to pay off the debt and the case was dropped in September 2022. In May 2022, the national builder ARCO/Murray sued The X Company, claiming it was owed $1.3 million for its construction work at X Denver.
